It’s the late 90s, a punk revival has begun, Buffy the Vampire Slayer is mere weeks away from premiering, and Eliza Nightingale is about to break yet another coven rule. Little does she know that what started as small acts of disobedience is about to lead her down a far more rebellious path.
On the other side of town, LA transplant Isabel Ramírez is trying to settle into her new life. She’s missing her old house, her friends, and the music scene she left behind. Worst of all, her parents have banned her from using magic for fear of repeating the kind of incident that forced them to flee Los Angeles in the first place. Isabel understands the need for caution, but with so little to do in Thorn’s Edge, California, she is struggling to find non-magical ways of entertaining herself.
Thankfully, it’s not long before she meets Eliza and learns the Ramírez family isn’t the only magic-using family in town.
But Eliza isn’t just any witch. She’s a coven-born witch.
